Biography

I. Childhood

Will Latimer was born June 19th, 1961, in Independence, Missouri. His early years were spent in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

II. Young Adulthood

Will graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1979. In the summer of that year he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked at odd jobs until starting his post-secondary studies at Rockmont College in Lakewood, Colorado. He moved to Seattle, Washington, in 1984, where he ultimately completed his Bachelor’s degree in Social Services from Western Washington University in 1987.

III. Adulthood

Will began a thirteen year career in the insurance industry immediately after graduation. After leaving the insurance industry in January, 2000, and returning to Denver, Will accepted a Case Manager’s job at the Mental Health Center of Denver and returned to school to obtain his Master’s degree in counseling. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Master of Arts in Community Counseling in December, 2003. This resulted in Will opening his private counseling office in February, 2004.

IV. Self-Perceptions

I have spent many years, with the help of counselors, looking at myself. I am a compassionate and empathic person. I am a natural listener with the ability to summarize complex situations into their significant parts. My self-analysis began at the age of sixteen, when I had to come to terms with issues in my own life. During my professional years in the corporate environment, I learned invaluable people, sales, and management skills, which help make me uniquely able to understand and communicate with people from all walks of life. This combined with my personal experiences and education gives me many different areas to draw upon when relating to others.

Three major goals in my life are:

1) Internal peace and happiness.
2) Financial stability and independence.
3) To know that when I die, I will have left the world a better place than when I came into it.
